Instant dahi vada is lower in calories than the traditional way of making the deep fried vadas. Curd or yogurt is a dairy product which is a great source of probiotics and protein. Cow’s milk curd can be used instead of wholemilk curd to make it low fat. Better still, skimmed milk curd can be used to cut down on fat completely. The boiled green mungbeans provide proteins and dietary fiber. The spices provide phytochemicals which are rich in antioxidants and are great immune boosters.
Ingredients for Instant Dahi Vada Recipe
Serves 1 Time: 10-15 minutes
Dahi (Curd or Plain Yogurt) 2 katoris
Jeera butter biscuits 6 numbers (small sized)
Green mung beans ½ katori (cooked)
Coriander powder ½ tsp. or as per taste
Cumin powder (jeera) ¼ tsp. or as per taste
Chili powder ¾ tsp. or as per taste
Coriander leaves handful for garnish (optional)
Salt to taste
Sugar as per taste
Method for Instant Dahi Vada Recipe
- Soak the jeera butter biscuits for 10 mins in a container of drinking water.
- Meanwhile chop coriander leaves.
- Take the curd in a bowl, add the spices, salt and some sugar and beat well.
- Squeeze out water well from the biscuits and arrange in a plate with side edges.
- Pour the curd prepared above into the plate with the soaked biscuits
- Sprinkle some more coriander powder, cumin powder, chilli powder for garnish.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and boiled whole mungbeans.
- Your instant dahi vadas are ready to eat!
