This flaxseed recipe is rich in omega-3 fatty acids which have cardioprotective effects. Do not expose the flaxseed to heat for long or else it can get rancid or spoil the fat in it. Please make the recipe exactly as it is explained. This will retain maximum amount of good fats and its health benefits.
These seeds are highly nutritious, rich in iron, calcium, fibre and good fats. There are many health benefits of flaxseeds. This flaxseed chutney recipe is a quick, healthy and easy snack recipe. Such homemade recipes are tasty and healthy spices that can be used instead of high-fat buttery and cheesy spreads for kids and adults. This chutney can also be used in a curd dip and is easy-to-make. This is a healthy and tasty condiment that is convenient to use as part of a healthy snack food recipe.
Makes 1 jar of Flax chutney
Pre-preparation: 1/2 – 1 min
Cooking time: 1 min
Ingredients
100 gm. Flaxseeds, raw
4 cloves of Garlic
3/4 tsp. red chilli powder, adjust spice level as per taste
1/3 tsp. Salt, or according to taste
Step by Step Flaxseed chutney recipe
- Heat the kadhai or pan for 1 min on high flame. Switch off the flame.
- Spread the flaxseeds on the hot kadhai and stir lightly. You will hear an occasional crackle sound. Do not allow the flax to burn by stirring constantly
- Transfer the toasted flaxseeds on to a plate and allow it to cool slightly.
- Add the cooled flaxseeds, garlic, chili powder and salt to mixie.
- Scrape out the dry flaxseed chutney powder and store into a glass jar.
This flaxseed recipe or alsi chutney recipe is so simple, nutritious and quick to make. The chutney powder is refrigerated to keep it fresh. This can be used as a sandwich spread or added to plain yogurt to make a curd dip. It is healthy snack recipe for kids and a healthy snack for working people when mixed into nutritious parathas, sandwiches and dips. People with cravings can chew on this tasty and healthy snack or eat it as a curd dip. This healthy recipe lasts for about a week when refrigerated.
